About Murad Jamil:
Murad Jamil received his Bachelor of Architecture from Dawood College of Engineering & Technology, Karachi and later attained his Masters in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1991.
After graduation he joined Bechtel Corporation and worked on the Euro Disney project in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering in Los Angeles. Mainly on the design development and construction documents of their 5,000 acre project, located 20 miles south of Paris, France.
Murad Jamil served as the Chairman Board of Architectural Education, Institute of Architects, Pakistan, from 2012 to 2015, and with the IAP team, ran the the Faculty Training Programmes in Pakistan. In addition, he organized the “International Conference on Architectural Education” in December 2014. Also, Murad Jamil represented BAE-IAP at ARCASIA Committee on Architectural Education in 2014.
In 2012, he was instrumental in creating the IAP-KBA Award with KBA CARE Trustees, which is given out every year for an outstanding undergraduate thesis on Socially Responsive Architecture. Earlier, he was the Convener for IAP’s first Lifetime Achievement Award held in 2003, recognizing the twenty most influential architects of Pakistan.
He serves on the Boards of Studies of two architecture schools in Pakistan and his office continues to be a nurturing environment for interns and young architects.
